Moses G. Whitsitt was born in Virginia in 1792. In 1824 he moved to North Carolina, where he lived until 1834, when he settled in Georgia and died in what is now Cherokee County in the same year. He as a tanner and a saddle and harness-maker by trade, and also devoted some attention to agricultural pursuits. His wife, Nancy T.
